Workers Survey & business survey

A key feature of the Labour-based approach to road rehabilitation and maintenance is that 20-30% of the total road rehabilitation cost and up to 60-80% of road maintenance cost is utilized by community labour, and is an injection for the local economy. In order to understand the effect of the improved access and the labour-based approach on local economic development, a worker survey with male and female workers is conducted within three months of the completion of each road, as well as a survey of all existing businesses in the villages along the road.
